About Me
MY NAME IS Eric
My personal affinity for selecting the right tree for the right project is most greatly influenced by my Father and Grandfather. Growing up as a kid I have always been surrounded by trees and woodworking. My Grandfather started a tree trimming business in the mid 50s. My Father was raised to learn the ways of nature and over time perfected the ability to nurture trees as a means to feed his family. He passed the information along to me and I continue to learn and practice these skills everyday.
River City Sawmill was created after seeing the need to salvage beautiful trees from either the landfill or burn piles. In the beginning most of the trees we milled were from jobs that the tree had to be removed due to a hazard or disease. Since then we have had the chance to start selectively harvesting trees to help maintain select parcels of land.
After getting into the milling process of these salvaged and selectively harvested trees I quickly saw the beauty in the wood and knew we could keep breathe life back into this natural resource by turning it into amazing pieces of work. Whether it’s a dining table, beams for a house or just a simple sitting bench our mission is to provide our clients with an heirloom that can be enjoyed for years to come.
